6-Month Check

Brett had his six-month well baby check up today. And what a Well Baby he is!

Stats:
Height: 27" - 75th percentile
Weight: 18lbs 8 oz - 75th percentile
Head Circumference: 46cm - 95th percentile. This explains why none of his cute spring hats fit on his head this past weekend.

He had his vision tested as well. If you have never seen a 6-month old get a vision test, this is what it looks like....
They turn the lights off and flash a bunch of things up on a screen while playing loud music to gain and keep his attention. It's fascinating to me that they can test babies so young and of course, I never get tired of seeing my kids sporting the pirate look.

Overall, he passed his check up with flying colors. He is doing all of things he should be doing at 6-months old: babbling, supporting himself if you put him in the sitting position, pushing up and rocking back and forth (not crawling, but trying!), and eating solid foods twice a day. We'll bump him up to three times a day this weekend.

The appointment ended with a round of vaccinations. I was upset at seeing Brett get upset. But I think Brett was more upset that the wind chimes above the exam table stopped chiming and we weren't taking them home with us than he was about the shots. That kid is so good.
